Schubert Motorsport completed the ADAC GT Masters at the Sachsenring with a podium finish and a strong team performance.
In car number 20, Abdulaziz Turki Al Faisal partnered with Italian Mirko Bortolotti, who recently made a name for himself as Formula 2 champion in 2011 and as a Williams Formula 1 test driver name internationally.
After the disappointment in Saturday's race, drivers Mirko and Abdulaziz finished in third place after starting in fifth spot on the grid.
Racing in the team's second car, number 19, was German drivers Claudia Hurtgen and Dominik Schwager and they finished in sixth place.
Schubert team manager Stefan Wendl said: "On the podium result of Mirko and Abdulaziz I am very pleased. Both have been perfectly integrated into the team and were well prepared for their top ADAC GT Masters debut.
"All in all, I am so very proud of our drivers and our mechanics."
Before the race Abdulaziz had said: "I am looking forward to our first race in the ADAC GT Masters, after we have had with Schubert Motorsport in the past, many success stories.
"The ADAC GT Masters is the next step for us, because it is one of the fastest GT series worldwide. After we had to omit the first two races of the season, the anticipation is now even greater. The Sachsenring is a fascinating race. Hopefully it will stay dry."
Next stop will be at Nürburgring on 13 to 15 July 2012 for races seven and eight of the FIA GT Championship.
